This volume contains updated papers presented at the XXIX th Annual Meeting of the European Consortium for Church and State Research, held in Tallinn, Estonia 16-19 November, 2017, titled: Securitization of Religious Freedom Religion and Scope of State Control . The 2017 meeting took place within a large international conference organized by the University of Tartu, School of Law together with the conference brought together about 300 participants from difference fields and professions: academics, legal professionals, members of diverse religious communities, politicians and civil service from all European Union countries. The theme of the conference was a still is topical in Europe and beyond. The conference also facilitated seminars for doctoral students interested in the field.
